Love for the world beats powerfully inside the pages of a brand-new book today, “The Heart of Simple Living: 7 Paths to a Better Life.” Wanda Urbanska is its celebrated and prolific author, with all of her works showcased at www.simplelivingtv.net where the Simple Living with Wanda Urbanska national television series is anchored. Much more than a friend to Postconsumers, Wanda gives lifeblood to all she touches.
As a tribute to the seven paths beautifully championed in “The Heart of Simple Living,” what could be more uplifting than putting them to music in the form of a song? A popular tune that most people are familiar with is “Do Re Mi” from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “The Sound of Music.” It just happens to have seven lines as it goes up the scale before repeating over and over, and each line below has seven syllables to fit the tune.
It’s easy to remember these lines and sing them to yourself (and others!) often for a truly better life. In creating this song, I have taken most of the words directly from Wanda herself in “The Heart of Simple Living,” so have heart loads of fun with it. YouTube performances, anyone?

Based on Wanda Urbanska’s “The Heart of Simple Living”:
One, be frugal, save a buck
Two, find work that sparks your flame
Three, choose housing small and green
Four, plan homemaking the same
Five, cook healthful food on site
Six, plant gardens for your soul
Seven, community shines bright.
That will bring us back to . . . (start over)
