At this important time of constant politics and forceful messaging in our country, I want to post a few words about the “hard sell.” I’m a “soft sell” person myself, and Postconsumers.com usually focuses like a laser on thinking for ourselves, but I realize that the assertive cacophony we live in goes hand-in-hand with freedom and gives opportunity to ferret out our own truths.
So here’s the hard sell – because it may be the hardest sell – that keeps me energized. There is a word that opens the way to global peace, justice and sustainability, but I don’t think it’s necessarily or primarily “love” or “gratitude” or “forgiveness,” as wonderful as those words are. I believe there is a word that might actually be most crucial to the health of people and the planet, so I happily assert that this word is “enough.”
But that’s a real hard sell.
