It is, in fact, possible that you are even reading this blog post on a cell phone, in which case we certainly don’t want you to put the phone down until after you’ve finished this blog post and thought about what it says! However, on the road to satisfaction, the cell phone can be a distraction. Here are some ways that the cell phone can get in your way of finding the satisfaction of enough and a few tips for how to disconnect!

You Never Have “You” Time: Cell phones were designed to make our lives more convenient because we’re now always accessible, but the truth is that the flip side of always being accessible means that we don’t always set aside the important “you” time we talked about earlier in this blog.
More and More Media Messages: Many of us surf the internet and check our email on our cell phones, which means that we’re exposed even more (and exposed all the time) to the media messages of more and more consumption. The cell phone has given marketers a direct line to us at all times!
Your Mind Gets Muddied: When we’re interacting all of the time and never really stopping to reflect, the mind gets muddied and it’s harder to get your thoughts clear. Without those moments of clarity and silence, it’s harder to reflect on what you need to do on your journey towards satisfaction.
Here are some tips for disconnecting from your phone!
Turn it off! Actually, it’s only one tip! Turn your phone off! It doesn’t need to be for an entire day, but set periods of time when you’re living phone free! Start with small increments, after all, we’re often slightly addicted to the constant stream of communication. Try just turning the phone off for ten or fifteen minutes, and then work up to several hours.
We don’t really need to be available to everybody at every single minute! You may not be able to imagine life without your phone turned on, but trust us, once you start turning your phone off for periods of time, you’ll be looking forward to that “no phone” time all day!
