If you live somewhere where it’s winter for six months of the year, then this is one of the best times of the year! The sun is out, it’s easy to spend time outside, and, best of all, you don’t need to spend at least an hour a day scraping snow off of your car windows! As we’re exploring ways to find satisfaction, today we’ll talk about taking advantage of the sun!
Firstly, a warning, always wear sunscreen! We don’t want to be the blog that told you to go out and play in the sun and then later be responsible for some of the sun’s more unfortunate side effects.

Part of finding the satisfaction of enough is being happy in the life that you have, and that also means appreciating the unique opportunities that come with weather. This counts for moody rainstorms and romantic snow as well, but it’s easiest to do in the summer. The sunshine and good weather make it easy to do the following:
  • Stay out of the stores. The air conditioning in there is not going to feel as good as the fresh air and warm rays in the park or at the beach or the pool.
  • Walk away from the computer or television. Especially if you live somewhere with multiple seasons, this is your golden time! Every moment that you spend in front of a screen is a moment that, when winter comes, you’ll wish you had been outside.
  • Kick feelings of being non-motivated. With the sunshine, biologically, comes an uptick in energy. All of the resolutions and changes in your life that you’ve been hoping to make will be just a little bit easier for you to do during the sunny weather. You’ll have that tiny little bit of extra energy and optimism that you need at this time of year!
The turn in the weather is also a great time for you to try new outdoor hobbies. We’ve heard recently that disc-golf is becoming popular across the nation, so this summer may be a great time to try that. You’ll meet new people and get in shape at the same time! You can also host outdoor gatherings, throw that yard sale we’ve been talking about and take time to just sit somewhere where there’s fresh grass and trees in bloom and appreciate the satisfaction of being close to something natural.
Summer is the easiest time of year to stay satisfied! You just need to wake up every day and remind yourself to take advantage of most everybody’s favorite season. Don’t fall prey to keeping bad habits when the weather is making it easy for you to create good, new ones.
